To continue the gift wrap activity series, I’m sharing this adorable holiday village craft. As you may have seen in previous posts, we saved all of our wrapping paper scraps and have been using our leftover wrapping supplies to create kid-friendly activities rather than tossing them out. I personally love that this is both a craft and an activity.
To create your own holiday town, cut your cardboard box into sections that can stand freely or tape kraft paper to a wall. Begin cutting out squares/rectangles for the homes and doors then triangles for the roofs. If your child is old enough to use scissors, this is a good opportunity to practice cutting skills as they follow the grid lines on the back of the paper. Once you’ve gathered all your building shape, tape or glue the pieces together to complete the scene. Double-sided tape or adhesive dots would be ideal for this project. Finally, add accessories such as townspeople, cars and landscaping to play.
